অতিথি পাখির কলতানে মুখরিত গাংনীর মাইলমারী পদ্মবিল

অতিথি পাখির কলতানে মুখরিত হয়ে পড়েছে গাংনীর মাইলমারী পদ্মবিল।
মেহেরপুর জেলার গাংনী উপজেলার কাথুলী ইউনিয়নের মাইলমারী পদ্মবিলের বিস্তৃত জলরাশী যেমন মানুষকে মুগ্ধ করে তেমনি শীত কালের শুরু থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত সরিষা ফুলের হলুদাভ রং বিমোহিত করে মানুষকে।
শীতের শুরুতেই পদ্মবিলে আসতে শুরু করে অতিথি পাখি। পদ্মবিলের জলাশয়ে পাখা ঝাপটে সুখ খোঁজে পাখিরা। কখনও রোদে শুকিয়ে নেয় তাদের গা। কখনও কখনও আকাশে উড়ে পাখিদের কলতানে মুখরিত করে এলাকাবাসীদের। এসব দৃশ্য মাইলমারী পদ্মবিলের সৌন্দর্য বর্ধনে যোগ করেছে বাড়তি মাত্রা।
মাইলমারী গ্রাম ঘিরে রয়েছে লক্ষ্ণিনারায়ণপুর, নওপাড়া, কুলবাড়িয়া, হিজলবাড়ীয়া, হিন্দা, পলাশীপাড়া ও তেঁতুল বাড়িয়া গ্রাম। পাখিদের কলতানে মুগ্ধ হতে এসব গ্রাম ছাড়াও মেহেরপুর জেলার বিভিন্ন এলাকা থেকে ভীড় জমান মাইলমারী পদ্মবিলের সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে।
শীতের শুরুতে সংখ্যায় কম হলেও শীত বাড়ার সাথে সাথে দেশ বিদেশী কয়েক হাজার পাখি এখন পদ্মবিলে অবস্থান করছে। সবমিলিয়ে পদ্মবিলের জল ও স্হলভাগ এখন মুখরিত পানকৌড়ি, বক, হরিয়াল, হারগিলা, রাতচোরা, বালিহাঁস, কাদাখোঁচা, ডাহুক, শামুকখোল, হটটিটি, ঘুঘুসহ বিভিন্ন দেশি-বিদেশি পাখির কলতানে।
তবে পানকৌড়ি ও বালিহাঁস সংখ্যায় অনেক বেশি। এসব পাখির দলবদ্ধ বিচরণ মুগ্ধ করছে সকলকে।
সুযোগটা কাজে লাগাতে প্রস্তুত হচ্ছে একধরনের অসাধু শৌখিন পাখি শিকারীরা ভক্ষণের উদ্দেশ্যে। একই সাথে পেশাদার পাখি শিকারীরাও বিক্রির উদ্দেশ্যে শিকারের চিন্তা ভাবনা শুরু করেছেন।
প্রতি জালে একই সাথে শতাধিক পাখি শিকার করা হয়ে থাকে। তা নিজেদের প্রয়োজন মিটিয়ে বিক্রি করা হয়ে থাকে।
প্রতি বছরই শীতের শুরু থেকে এসব পাখিরা পদ্ম বিলে এসে থাকে। স্হানীয় ধলার মাঠে পানি জমে থাকলে সেখানেও হাজার হাজার পাখি এসে থাকে। আর এসব শিকারীরাও তাদের কার্যক্রম শুরু করে দেয়।
সরেজমিনে গাংনী উপজেলার মাইলমারী পদ্ম বিলে যেয়ে দেখা মেলে, শান্ত বদ্ধ জলে সহস্রাধিক অতিথি পাখির অবাধ বিচরণ।
সকালে ও বিকেলে অধিক সংখ্যক পাখি জলাশয়ে অবস্থান নেয়। দিনের অন্য সময় আকাশে উড়ে কিংবা জার্মানীর পাশে ভেসে খাদ্য সংগ্রহে ব্যস্ত সময় পার করে। রাতে পাখিগুলো লোকালয়ে বাঁশের ঝাড়, মেহগনি গাছ, গোরস্তানের গাছে বা অন্যান্য গাছে অবস্থান করে।
পদ্ম বিলে চালিত ডিঙি কিংবা নৌকায় চড়ে কখনও কখনও তরুণরা খুব কাছাকাছি গিয়ে পাখি দেখার মজা অনুভব করে।
দেখা গেছে, অন্যান্য এলাকায় পাখি শিকার না করার জন্য সাইনবোর্ড টানিয়ে রাখা হয়। কিন্তু মাইলমারী পদ্ম বিলে সাইনবোর্ড টানিয়ে রাখা নেই। যে যার ইচ্ছে মতো শিকার করে পাখিগুলোকে।
আমরা বুঝি না। না বুঝেই নিজেদের পরিবেশ ধ্বংস করে থাকি। ধ্বংস করি জীব বৈচিত্র। যে অতিথি পাখিরা একটু গরমের খোঁজে সুদূর সাইবেরিয়া, মঙ্গোলিয়া, নেপাল, চীনের জিনজিয়াংসহ ইউরোপের বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে ছুটে আসে আমাদের দেশে কিন্তু শীত শেষে কখনোই জীবন নিয়ে নিজ ভূমিতে ফিরে যেতে পারেনা।
পদ্ম বিলের জীব বৈচিত্র রক্ষায় আমাদের সকলকেই সচেতন হতে হবে। এসব অর্থলোভী পাখি শিকারীদের প্রতিহত করতে হবে। যাতে করে আমরা পদ্ম বিলের সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে পারি। মেহেরপুর জেলাসহ পার্শ্ববর্তী জেলাগুলোর মানুষেরাও যেন উপভোগ করতে পারে এ জীব বৈচিত্র।
এব্যাপারে একটা সাইনবোর্ড টানিয়ে রাখার পরামর্শও দিয়েছেন অনেকে। প্রশাসনকেও তৎপর থাকতে হবে শিকারীরা যাতে করে দূরদূরান্ত থেকে এসে পাখি শিকার করে না নিয়ে যেতে পারে।
এলাকাবাসী এ ব্যাপারে উর্ধতন কর্তৃপক্ষের সুদৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেছেন।

At the beginning of winter, guest birds started coming to Padmabil. Birds flutter their wings in the water of Padmabil in search of happiness. Sometimes the sun dries their body. Sometimes the birds fly in the sky and make the locals sing. These scenes add an extra dimension to the beauty of Milemari Padmabil.
Milemari villages are surrounded by Laxminarayanpur, Naopara, Kulbaria, Hijalbaria, Hinda, Palashipara and Tentul Baria villages. Apart from these villages, people from different parts of Meherpur district flock to enjoy the beauty of Milemari Padmabil.
Although less in number at the beginning of winter, with the onset of winter, thousands of foreign birds are now staying in Padmabil. All in all, the waters and shores of Padmabil are now buzzing with various domestic and foreign birds including Pankauri, Buck, Harial, Hargila, Ratchora, Balihans, Kadakhoncha, Dahuk, Shamukkhol, Hottiti and Ghughu.
