দেশে জেরান্ড, পার্টিসিপল ও ইনফিনিটিভের ওপর প্রথম বিস্তর গবেষণামূলক বই “A Reliable Book of Gerund, Participle and Infinitive.” প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। ইংরেজি শিক্ষকদের বিতর্ক এড়াতে ও শিক্ষার্থীদের মানসম্মত ইংরেজি শিখতে সহায়ক বইটি লিখেছেন মেহেরপুরের জনপ্রিয় ইংরেজি শিক্ষক ও ভাষা গবেষক এম. এ. বাশার। প্রকাশের পর ইতোমধ্যে ইংরেজি ভাষা শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে মানের দিক থেকে ব্যাপক সাড়া ফেলেছে তথ্যভিত্তিক বইটি।
বাংলা ভাষায় ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণের সংশ্লিষ্ট এই বিষয়ের ওপর দেশে বিস্তর গবেষণামূলক কোনো বই না থাকায় শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষকেরা নানা ধরনের সমস্যা বহন করে আসছেন। দীর্ঘদিনের সেসব সমস্যার সমাধান পাওয়া যাবে বইটিতে। যেমন ‘He is busy writing’ এখানে ‘Busy’ এর পরে ing যুক্ত Verb প্রেজেন্ট পার্টিসিপল নাকি জেরান্ড? ‘I go fishing’ এখানে Go এর পরে ing যুক্ত Verb প্রেজেন্ট পার্টিসিপল নাকি জেরান্ড? But শব্দটি Preposition হলে এর পরে full infinitive নাকি bare infinitive হবে? Verb এর Past participle form Preposition হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয় কিনা?
Non- Finite Verb তথা অসমাপিকা ক্রিয়ার এমন বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে ইংরেজির কিছু শিক্ষকদের মাঝে রয়েছে বিস্তর মতপার্থক্য। শ্রেণিকক্ষে বা গ্রুপ স্টাডিতে যা নিয়ে প্রায় বিতর্কে জড়াতে দেখা যায় শিক্ষার্থীদেরও। ফলে বিসিএস-বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ভর্তি পরীক্ষাসহ বিভিন্ন প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরীক্ষায় এসব প্রশ্নের উত্তর নিয়ে বিভ্রান্তিতে পড়েন পরীক্ষার্থীরা। বিশ্বের নির্ভরযোগ্য রেফারেন্স বইয়ের আলোকে এসব বিভ্রান্তি, মতপার্থক্য ও সমস্যার যথাযথ সমাধান দিয়েছেন মেহেরপুর কলেজ অব ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজির ইংরেজী বিভাগের প্রধান ও দারুল ইহসান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি বিভাগের সাবেক শিক্ষক এম. এ. বাশার।
ইংরেজি ভাষা গবেষক এম. এ. বাশার ৭১টি রেফারেন্স বইয়ের আলোকে বাংলা ভাষায় বইটি লিখেছেন। এরআগেও লেখক বিভিন্ন শ্রেণির তথ্যভিত্তিক ইংরেজি বই লিখে শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে ব্যাপক সাড়া ফেলেন। নতুন বইটি পড়ার পর বিদেশি আর কোনো গ্রামারের ওপর জেরান্ড, পার্টিসিপল ও ইনফিনিটিভ শেখার ক্ষেত্রে নির্ভর করতে হবে না বলে জানিয়েছেন লেখক।
শিক্ষাবিদরা বলছেন, ইংরেজি ভাষা ও সাহিত্যের বিশাল অংশ দখল করে আছে জেরান্ড, পার্টিসিপল ও ইনফিনিটিভের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উপাদানগুলো। দৈনন্দিন জীবনে মানসম্মত ইংরেজি বলতে ও লিখতে যার বিকল্প নেই। ইংরেজি ভাষা শিক্ষার এ বইটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজি ভীতি দূর করতে যথেষ্ট সহায়ক হবে। পাশাপাশি শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রতিযোগিতামূলক বিশ্বের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে চলতে কার্যকর ভূমিকা পালন করবে।
টাইমস ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ, ফরিদপুর এর ভিসি ও ইসলামী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কুষ্টিয়া এর ইংরেজি বিভাগের সাবেক চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ড. এ.এইচ.এম আক্তারুল ইসলাম বলেন, দেশে জেরান্ড, পার্টিসিপল ও ইনফিনিটিভের ওপর এত তথ্যভিত্তিক ইংরেজি বই এটিই প্রথম। ইসলামি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইংরেজি বিভাগের eZ©gvb চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক ড. মেহের আলী বলেন, এই বইটি মাধ্যমিক থেকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পর্যন্ত সকল স্তরের শিক্ষার্থী ও অনুসন্ধিৎসু ইংরেজি পাঠকের কাছে সর্বদা মানসম্মত, উপযোগী ও কাঙ্খিত গ্রন্থ হিসাবে বিবেচিত হবে।
গাংনী মহিলা ডিগ্রি কলেজ (মেহেরপুর) এর ইংরেজি বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক হায়দর জাহাঙ্গীর বলেন “ অতীতে নন-ফাইনাইট fve© এর উপর এরূপ নিf©রযোগ্য বই এদেশে ছিল না। এই বইটি মাধ্যমিক থেকে উচ্চতর সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ও শিক্ষকদের নন-ফাইনাইট fve© এর ওপর পরিপূর্ণ জ্ঞান দিতে সক্ষম হবে।
বইটির প্রকাশনা সংস্থা ঢাকার হাসান বুক হাউস এর প্রকাশক ড. ভক্তিময় সরকার বলেন, বইটি ভালোভাবে পড়লে শিক্ষার্থীরা অনেক ভুল এড়িয়ে শুদ্ধভাবে ইংরেজি শিখতে সক্ষম হবে। একইসাথে ইংরেজি শেখাতে বইটি যথেষ্ট সহায়ক হবে।

Gangnirchokh:The first comprehensive research book on Gerund, Participle and Infinitive in the country is “A Reliable Book of Gerund, Participle and Infinitive.” Published. Meherpur’s popular English teacher and language researcher M.S. A. Bashar. The book has already received a good response from English language students in terms of quality since its publication.
Students and teachers have been facing various problems as there is no research book in the country on this subject related to English grammar in Bengali language. The solution to those long-standing problems can be found in the book. For example, ‘He is busy writing’. ‘I go fishing’ is the verb present participle or gerand with ing after go? But if the word is preposition then it will be full infinitive or bare infinitive? Is Past participle form of Verb used as Preposition?
There are many differences of opinion among some English teachers regarding non-finite verbs. Students are also seen engaging in debates in the classroom or in group studies. As a result, the candidates are confused about the answers to these questions in various competitive exams including BCS-University Admission Test. In the light of reliable reference books of the world, these confusion, differences and problems have been properly resolved by the head of the English department of Meherpur College of Engineering and Technology and former teacher of English department of Darul Ihsan University M. A. Bashar.
English language researcher M. A. Bashar wrote the book in Bengali in the light of 61 reference books. Even before this, the author wrote a variety of information-based English books, which caused a great response among the students. After reading the new book, the author said that one does not have to rely on any foreign grammar to learn gerand, participle and infinitive.
Academics say that a large part of the English language and literature is occupied by the important elements of Gerand, Participatory and Infinitive. There is no substitute for speaking and writing standard English in daily life. This English language book will be helpful enough to overcome the fear of English in the students. As well as students will play an effective role in keeping pace with the competitive world.
Times University Bangladesh, VC of Faridpur and former chairman of the English department of Islamic University Kushtia, Prof. A.HM Akhtarul Islam said, this is the first English book in the country with so much information on Gerand, Participate and Infinitive. Haider Jahangir, an assistant professor in the English department at Gangni Women’s Degree College (Meherpur), said: This book will be able to give full knowledge about non-final night to all students and teachers from secondary to higher.
