গাংনীতে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় আহত-৭
মেহেরপুরের গাংনীতে রাস্তায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা ট্রাককে পেছন থেকে ধাক্কা ধাক্কা দিয়ে বাসের হেলপারসহ ৭ যাত্রী আহত হয়েছে। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার ভোরে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে।
আহতরা হলেন, মেহেরপুর চাঁদপুর গ্রামের মৃত আসলাম শেখের ছেলে জাহাঙ্গীর আলম(৪০), গাংনী পৌরসভা ধীন ০৭নং ওয়ার্ডের আব্দুস সাত্তারের ছেলে আব্দুস সালাম(২৫), গাংনী উপজেলার পশ্চিম মালসাদহ গ্রামের মহাসেন আলীর ছেলে মাহবুব আলম(৩৪), মেহেরপুর আমঝুপি গ্রামের রায়হান(৪৫), গাংনীর রেজাউল হক(৫৫), ও একই এলাকার আব্দুল আউয়ালের ছেলে দেলোয়ার হোসেন(৩০),নওদা পাড়া গ্রামের মিঠুন আলী(২১)।
স্থানীয়রা জানান, মেহেরপুর-কুষ্টিয়া সড়কের তেরাইল জোড়পুকুরিয়া ডিগ্রী কলেজের সামনে ট্রাকচালকেরা ট্রাক থামিয়ে বিভিন্ন আশেপাশে দোকান থেকে খাওয়া-দাওয়া করেন। সরু রাস্তার কারণে অনেক সময় যান চলাচলে সমস্যা হয়ে থাকে কিন্তু অনেক বলার পরেও তারা এগুলো শোনেন না। আজকে যে দুর্ঘটনা ঘটেছে রাস্তায় কথা জনিত কারণে রাস্তায় দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা ট্রাক থেকে দেখতে না পেয়ে পেছন থেকে ধাক্কা দেয়। তারা আরো বলেন প্রশাসনের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করে বলছি যে রাস্তায় এভাবে ট্রাক দাঁড়ানো বন্ধ করতে হবে কেননা এর চেয়েও বড় দুর্ঘটনা ঘটতে পারে আগামীতে।
বামন্দী ফায়ার সার্ভিস স্টেশনের ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা ইসাহক আলী জানান, তেরাইল জোড়পুকুরিয়া ডিগ্রী কলেজের সামনে রাস্তার উপর দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা একটি ট্রাককে জে আর পরিবহন পেছন থেকে ধাক্কা দেয় এমন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে দ্রুত সময় মধ্যে বামন্দি ফায়ার সার্ভিস ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আহতদের উদ্ধার করে উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নিয়ে আসে।
Injured in road accident in Gangni-7
Six passengers, including a bus helper, were injured when a truck parked on the road in Gangni of Meherpur was pushed from behind. The accident took place on Thursday morning.
The injured have been identified as Jahangir Alam, 40, son of late Aslam Sheikh of Meherpur Chandpur village, Abdus Salam, 25, son of Abdus Sattar of Ward 07under Gangni Municipality, Mahbub Alam, 34, son of Mahasen Ali of Paschim Malsadah village of Gangni upazila and Raihan, 45, of Amjhupi village of Meherpur. ), Rezaul Haque (55) of Gangni and Delwar Hossain (30), son of Abdul Awal of the same area, and Mithun Ali (21) of Naoda Para village.
According to the locals, the truck drivers stopped the truck in front of Terail Jorpukuria Degree College on the Meherpur-Kushtia road and ate and drank from the shops in the vicinity. Due to the narrow roads, there are many traffic problems but they do not listen to them even after saying a lot. The accident that took place today was caused by talking on the road and pushed from behind without being able to see from the truck standing on the road. They also said that the administration should draw the attention of the people to stop the trucks from standing on the road like this because bigger accidents could happen in the future.
Isaaq Ali, officer-in-charge of Bamandi Fire Service Station, said the Bamandi Fire Service rushed to the spot and rescued the injured on the basis of reports that a truck parked on the road in front of Terail Jorpukuria Degree College was pushed from behind by JR Paribahan and brought to the Upazila Health Complex.
